EB-3 Other Workers

EB-3 Documents Checklist

A practical preparation guide for foreign workers who want their identity, family, work history, and civil documents organized before the process gets busy.

Why It Matters

Good Documents Make A Long Process Less Painful

EB-3 is already a long process. Disorganized documents make it harder. The goal is not to panic or collect everything at once; the goal is to know what kinds of records may matter so you can prepare calmly.

Names, dates, birth records, marriage records, work history, addresses, and identity documents should be consistent. Small inconsistencies can create avoidable questions later.

This checklist is general preparation information. It is not legal advice. Official requirements can depend on the case, country, family situation, consular post, and instructions from licensed immigration attorneys or authorized legal professionals.

Core Records

Start With These Document Groups

Identity

Passport, national ID, birth certificate, prior passports if relevant, and consistent spelling of your full legal name.

Family

Marriage certificate, divorce records, spouse documents, children's birth certificates, adoption records if applicable.

Work history

Resume, employer names, job titles, dates, duties, references, training records, and honest employment background.

Education and training

School records, certificates, trade training, language training, safety training, or other records if relevant to the role.

Later Stages

Documents Often Needed Later

Police certificates

Some applicants need police records from countries where they lived for certain periods.

Medical examination

Immigrant visa applicants usually complete a medical exam with an authorized panel physician before interview.

Vaccination records

Vaccination history can matter during the immigrant visa medical process.

Translations

Documents not in English or the required consular language may need proper translation.

Avoid Problems

Document Mistakes That Slow People Down

Expired passport

Renew early. Passport delays can block later steps.

Name mismatch

Different spellings across records can create unnecessary questions.

Missing family records

Marriage, divorce, and child records can take time to replace.

False information

Never invent work history, documents, addresses, education, or family facts.
